Made in a single mould by interweaving continuous glass roving with resin, molded grating has equal strength in both directions and excellent corrosion resistance. Panels can be cut on site with standard tools. We produce square mesh from 19×19 mm to 83.3×83.3 mm and a range of rectangular meshes, from 13 mm to 60 mm thick. It is the most popular and most economical choice for industrial walkways and platforms.

Pultruded grating uses I-bars or T-bars locked together with cross rods at 152 mm centres. Because the load bars run continuously in one direction, pultruded grating carries heavier loads over longer spans, which reduces the number of supports you need. It is the choice for offshore decks, bridge walkways and heavy-traffic platforms. Panels are available up to approx. 12 m long.

Specialty versions

Mini Mesh Grating (19×19 and 20×20 mm)

Small openings (42% open area) stop heels, small tools and debris from falling through. Available from 14 mm to 40 mm thick. Suited to pedestrian bridges, barefoot areas, wheelchair ramps and public spaces.

Heavy-Duty Grating

60 mm molded grating (38×38 mesh, 50.43 kg/m²) and the 25H heavy-duty rectangular series are built for carts, trolleys and light vehicle traffic in plants and docks.

Rectangular Mesh Grating

Rectangular meshes such as 25×100, 25×152 and 38×152 mm are directional. They are stronger along one side, so they suit narrow walkways, stair treads and long, narrow trenches.

Covered Grating

A solid FRP plate (smooth or gritted) bonded to molded grating gives a closed floor. Use it where liquids, small parts or light must not pass through. Cover plate thickness and surface are specified to order.

Phenolic Grating

Phenolic resin is specified for offshore platforms, tunnels, mines and enclosed spaces where fire behaviour is critical. It is available in 38×38, 19×19, 38×152 and 50×50 mm meshes.

Surfaces

  • Standard top: the moulded surface of the grating bars. It is easy to clean and suits most indoor walkways.
  • Grit top (code G): sand grit bonded into the surface for maximum grip on oily, wet or icy floors. It is recommended for outdoor and wet areas.
  • Pultruded I-bar grating: grit top or grooved top.
  • Pultruded T-bar grating: grit top.
  • Covered grating: smooth or gritted cover plate, with the thickness specified to order.

Phenolic grating is supplied in dark brown. Other colours (such as orange-red) are available on request. Availability of each colour by resin, surface and size is confirmed with your quotation. Pigment is mixed through the resin, so colour doesn't wear off like paint.

04 / OUR FACTORY

Made in Our Own Factory in Nantong

MACHS is the brand of Nantong Mach’s Composite Material Co., Ltd., an FRP manufacturer in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, China. We produce the grating ourselves; we do not resell panels made by other factories.

  • Molded grating: one-piece panels from 13 to 60 mm thick, in square meshes from 19 × 19 to 83.3 × 83.3 mm and in rectangular meshes.
  • Pultruded grating: I-bar and T-bar models from 26 to 51 mm high, in panels up to about 12 m long.
  • Fabrication: cutting to drawing, cut-outs, edge sealing, covered (solid-top) grating and stair treads, finished in the factory before packing.
  • Testing: an in-house lab for flexural, impact, salt spray and weathering tests, with fire tests carried out by SGS.

Visit the factory: buyers are welcome to audit our production. Fly to Nantong Xingdong International Airport, or to Shanghai Hongqiao or Pudong, and we will collect you.

Every order is checked from raw material to finished panel:

  1. Incoming inspection: glass fibre, resin and additives are checked against supplier certificates.
  2. In-process control: resin mixing and curing are controlled for each batch.
  3. Finished product inspection: dimensions, weight and appearance are checked against the order.
  4. Pre-shipment check: quantity, labelling and packing are checked against your order.

FRP replaced corroded steel platforms in one of the world's largest man-made harbours. Still in service after more than 15 years of salt spray, UV and extreme summer heat.

What Buyers Ask Before Ordering FRP Grating

"Will it carry my load?"

We publish deflection data for our grating (see the load tables above) and can provide full load tables for each model. Tell us the span, load type and deflection limit, and our engineers will recommend the right depth and mesh.

"Is it really slip-resistant when wet or oily?"

For wet, oily and outdoor areas we recommend a grit-top surface. Covered grating with a gritted plate is available where a closed floor is needed.

"Can I trust a Chinese supplier on quality?"

We are the manufacturer, not a trading company. Our grating holds an ABS Product Design Assessment, our factory holds an ABS Manufacturing Assessment, and our fire performance is tested by SGS. Third-party inspection before shipment is welcome.

"Will the panels match my drawing?"

Every order is cut to your drawing and checked before packing. Each piece is labelled with its drawing number so your installers know where it goes.

"How will it arrive?"

Panels are stacked flat, wrapped in corrugated board and secured with steel strapping. Every shipment includes the packing list, commercial invoice, certificate of origin and the test reports you need.

"What's the lead time?"

Lead time depends on resin, size, colour, surface and quantity. We confirm stock availability and lead time in writing with every quotation. Rush production can be discussed for urgent projects.

  2. Stacking: panels are laid flat, layer by layer.
  3. Wrapping: each stack is wrapped in corrugated board.

Questions Buyers Ask an FRP Grating Manufacturer

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

We are the manufacturer. MACHS grating is molded and pultruded in our own factory in Nantong, Jiangsu, China, and cut and packed there before shipment.

Can we visit or audit your factory?

Yes. Buyers and inspection companies are welcome. Fly to Nantong Xingdong International Airport, or to Shanghai Hongqiao or Pudong, and we will collect you. Third-party inspection before shipment is also welcome.

Do you provide samples?

Stock samples are free (new moulds excluded). Custom samples are charged, and the sample fee is refunded when your order reaches the MOQ.

What is your minimum order quantity?

We accept very small orders, including trial and single-pallet orders.

What are your payment and trade terms?

30% deposit and 70% before shipment by T/T. We also accept L/C, and quote FOB, FCA, CIF or DDP.

What is your lead time?

It depends on resin, size, colour, surface and quantity. We confirm stock availability and lead time in writing with every quotation.

Which documents come with an order?

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and the test reports your project needs.

Can you make grating to our drawing or specification?

Yes. We cut, number and label every piece to your layout, including cut-outs for pipes and columns, and can supply standard RAL colours or match other colours on larger orders.

Which certificates and test reports do you have?

ABS Product Design Assessment for FRP grating, ABS Manufacturing Assessment, and ISO 9001:2015. Our SGS ASTM E84 tests gave Class A results on 38 mm molded grit-top grating and 38 mm I-6015 pultruded grating.

Is FRP grating the same as GRP or fiberglass grating?
