Product Description
In the workplace, safety is of the utmost importance. However, traditional metallic stair treads, flooring, walkways, and structures are generally affected by corrosion, causing something bad to happen. Our GRP grating has passed a whole series of well-known third-party tests with fire and mechanical properties. We provide two kinds of FRP gratings: FRP molded grating and FRP pultruded grating.

▶ Types of FRP Grating
◉ FRP Molded Grating
FRP molded grating offers the most corrosion resistant gratings available today. It is a kind of FRP grating that uses high-strength E-glass roving as reinforcing material, thermosetting resin as matrix, and then cast and formed into FRP grating plates with regularly distributed rectangle or square meshes. Due to its integrally cast construction, it has perfect bi-directional mechanical properties that affords usage in many more applications than traditional unidirectional grating products. We can produce FRP molded gratings of different thickness, mesh and panel size.
We supply FRP grating mold for FRP molded grating production of 25#,30#,38#,50#, other international standard specifications and customized non-standard specifications.
▶ Resin System of FRP Molded Grating
V-CF: This is a superior vinyl ester resin that offers an incredible corrosion resistance in acid, alkali solvent and other severe corrosion environments. Available colors: green, yellow, orange or gray.
V-CR: This is a vinyl ester resin that is recommended for the high flame retardant and high corrosion resistance requirements. Flame Spread is ASTM E84 rating of 100 or less. Available color: black and dark gray.
I-IF: This is an isophthalic polyester resin system that is more economical than the above two. It has excellent acid resistance, moderate alkali and solvent resistance. Available colors: yellow, gray, or dark green.
I-FF: This is a food-grade isophthalic polyester resin system that is mainly used in meat factories, food processing plants, and water plants. It can offer antimicrobial properties to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the surface. Available color: yellow and light gray.
O-AF: This is a resin system designed for mild corrosive environments. Best suited to replace metal gratings that require maintenance to maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance. It has a Class 1 ASTM E-48 Tunnel Test flame spread rating of 25 or less for indoor use. It is more economical than I-IF. Available colors: green, gray, and yellow.
O-AN: Similar resin system as O-AF but is not flame retardant or flame spread rated. It is more economical than O-AF. Available colors: dark green, gray, and yellow.
MP-5: This resin is an acrylic-modified polyester system ideal for environments with high fire protection and low smoke requirements, such as tunnel, offshore, mass transit, and other confined space applications. Flame spread is ASTM E84: flame spread index of 25 or less, with a smoke developed index of 100 or less and Fuel Contribution of 0. Available color: brown.

FRP Regular Mesh Grating It is also known as FRP square mesh grating, which is one of our most versatile grating products, suiting just about any application. | FRP Rectangular Mesh Grating It is designed specifically to provide a solution to expand the range of applications of molded grating into applications where larger spans are required or desired. Typical applications include: bridges, platforms, trench covers. |
FRP Mini Mesh Grating It is a special type of FRP molded grating having all the qualities of regular molded grating but with added features and advantages. It is an ADA compliant mesh size. It is more aesthetically pleasing than regular square mesh gratings and also it has more load-bearing capacity on every square meter. The ½” mesh size openings allow for greater foot coverage, high heel shoe traffic, and a smoother rolling surface for wheelchairs, carts, and hand trucks. | Heavy Duty FRP Grating It’s designed and manufactured to bearing fork loading, which traditional molded FRP grating can not stand. ● Normal Cutting Method of FRP Molded Grating
During installation, FRP grating usually needs to be adjusted differently for different environments during installation. To change a piece or full panel grating, the grating style is different, now will need to cut grating to match with surroundings. Below will introduce some normal cutting methods for FRP gratings:
Type A: Edge Around ( Optional Tooth Edge)
Beautiful and tidy, but cost is high, for edge around, length and width must meet: N (mesh quantity) * single mesh size (such as 38.1) + load bar width. It is usually used in car wash.
Type B: One Side Open
Looks tidy after installation. It is usually used for trench covers, walkways.
Type C: Opposite Side Open
It looks tidy but the cost is relatively high. One set of opposite sides should meet the size requirements of Type A, and another set of opposite sides should be cut symmetrically.
Type D: Near Side Open
Type E: Four Sides Open
Economic method. It is messy after paving and is generally not recommended.
◉ FRP Pultruded Grating
For FRP pultruded grating, the glass fiber content is higher than resin content (made of about 70% glass fiber and 30% resin), it’s assembled by FRP pultruded profiles, these profiles (I-bars, T-bars) are formed to make glass fiber and mat go to resin bath by the guide, then wrapped with surface veil, at last through the heating mold. It has excellent rigidity and can be used in places that need a wide span.
Pultruded fiberglass grating combines corrosion resistance, long service life and low maintenance & design, which is better than traditional metal grating. Saving labor and device makes the cost of FRP pultruded grating similar to steel grating. This advanced GRP pultruded grating design is used widely in industrial applications that need high strength and corrosion-resistant.

● Types of FRP Pultruded Grating
Pedestrian Pultruded Grating FRP pedestrian pultruded grating is specially designed for pedestrian walking, which need anti-slip, corrosion resistance, long lasting, light material. It is made of wide T-bar, obviously improve walking comfort. Standard color is yellow or gray. The surface is available in standard rough grid or water grit (it’s a kind of fine girt which you make you feel comfortable in bare feet). | Industrial Pultruded Grating FRP industrial pultruded grating is suitable for heavier loading and longer span. Our most popular industrial pultruded grating is 25mm, 28mm, and 50mm thick for choice. 25mm and 38mm thick gratings are equipped with I-shaped bearing bar, the 50mm thick grating is equipped with T-shaped bearing bearing bar. We will provide you different kinds of 316ss clips, to connect molded grating & pultruded grating to supporting part. For different kind of FRP gratings, the grating clips will be different. Here we list some common clips for your reference, detailed introduction please refer to detail page.
L-type L clip is used for special positioning connection for grating and support. It’s used for molded grating, use support bar to fix FRP molded grating to support. Each mesh has 4 L-type clips at least. | M-Type M clip is used for special positioning connection for grating and support. Has the function of fix and firm, use 2 neighbour load bars to fix molded grating or pultruded grating to support. | C-type C clip is used to connect edges of 2 gratings, to make platform has good overall property. Also called F-type plate edge clip, used to connect edges of 2 FRP molded gratings which have no support. |
G-type When it’s necessary to avoid drilling hole on support, G-type provides solution. Screw bolt tight, the clip jaw clamps support flange.
